About Us: APEX Heart Centre is a thriving community outpatient cardiology clinic in the west end of Kingston offering cardiac consultation and on-site cardiac testing. We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Cardiologist to join our growing team.

Job Overview: As a Cardiologist at APEX Heart Centre, you will provide care to patients with a range of heart-related conditions. Responsibilities will include diagnosing and treating patients with cardiovascular disease as well as advising patients on long-term heart health management. The ideal candidate will be passionate about patient care, up-to-date on current advancements in cardiology medicine and work effectively as a team player .

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform patient interviews, including medical history, physical exam, and creating a treatment plan
• Diagnose and treat patients with cardiovascular diseases
• Develop and execute treatment plans, such as prescribing medications, lifestyle changes and interventions
• Reading and completing reports for cardiac testing
• Collaborate with specialists, nurses, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Educate patients and/or their families about heart health, preventative measures and treatment options
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using our electronic medical records (EMR) and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
• Participate in continuing education

Qualifications:

• Certification in Internal Medicine
• Completion of an accredited Cardiology Fellowship
• Enrollment with Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
• Active license with CPSO
• Registration with the Ministry of Health (MOH)
• Proven experience working in a cardiac clinic or hospital setting diagnosing and treating cardiac patients
• Strong communication skills with experience communicating with patients and/or families
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
