Job Description
The Department of Psychiatry, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Markham Stouffville Hospital, is currently recruiting for a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. The successful candidate will be a contributing member of the Division and Department, working with a committed, supportive, and collegial group dedicated to providing high quality clinical care in a community hospital setting.
The successful candidate will be working in a multidisciplinary outpatient child and adolescent mental health clinic, providing consultation and acute follow-up for patients referred by family physicians and from our emergency room. The successful candidate will also share in providing on-call services for the Department of Psychiatry. As our department grows, future expansion plans include a child and adolescent inpatient unit. Hence, competency and willingness to work in an inpatient setting will be considered as a strong asset.
Qualifications/Experience:
- License or eligibility to practice independently in Ontario from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Psychiatrist Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent
- Subspecialty Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent (fellows are encouraged to apply)
