This position is a COMMUNITY position and is NOT part of Alberta Health Services.

 

Job Description:

The successful physician will provide comprehensive, full scope family medicine within a collaborative Patient Medical Home model. Responsibilities include providing longitudinal primary care to an attached patient panel, preventative health care, chronic disease
management, acute and episodic care, pediatric care, women's health, prenatal care, geriatric medicine, mental health care, minorprocedures within scope of practice, and coordination of care with specialists and allied health professionals. The physician will work five
days per week, participate in a shared on call rotation, and provide a combination of booked appointments and same day access to improve timely patient care. The physician will actively participate in panel management, preventative screening initiatives, quality improvement activities, and multidisciplinary care in collaboration with the St. Albert Sturgeon Primary Care Network (PCN), Registered Nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, and mental health professionals. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate and timely medical records using the clinic's electronic medical record (Healthquest), participating in CII/CPAR panel management, meeting CPSA Standards of Practice, supporting continuity of care, and contributing to the ongoing delivery of accessible, patient centered primary care for the Morinville and surrounding rural communities.

 

Morinville Family Medical Clinic is a well established, physician led family practice located in the growing community of Morinville, Alberta, approximately 35 kilometres north of Edmonton. The clinic provides comprehensive primary care services to Morinville and the surrounding rural communities and is committed to delivering high quality, patient centred care through the Patient Medical Home model.The clinic currently has four family physicians and sees more than 120 patients each day. It offers comprehensive family medicine services, including preventative care, chronic disease management, women's health, pediatric care, prenatal care, mental health services, minor procedures, and same day urgent appointments. The clinic is open seven days per week with extended evening and weekend hours, improving access to primary care and reducing unnecessary emergency department visits.Morinville Family Medical Clinic works collaboratively with the St. Albert Sturgeon Primary Care Network (PCN) and an interdisciplinary team that includes Registered Nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, and mental health professionals to provide coordinated, team based care. The clinic actively participates in CII/CPAR panel management, preventative screening initiatives, quality improvement activities, and continuity of care for its patient population.Morinville is one of Alberta's fastest growing communities, offering an excellent quality of life with affordable housing, excellent schools, recreational facilities, and easy access to the City of Edmonton. The community has experienced continued residential growth, creating an increasing demand for comprehensive family physicians and expanding access to primary care services.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a valid College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) Eligibility Letter for the Practice Readiness Assessment (PRA) program at the time of application. Candidates must also be eligible for Alberta Health Services sponsorship, eligible to obtain and maintain an Alberta Health Services Medical Staff Appointment, and eligible for registration with Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) Practitioner Services. The successful candidate must be committed to providing comprehensive, full scope family medicine within the Patient Medical Home model, including preventative care, chronic disease management, women's health, pediatric care, mental health care, and continuity of care.
