Join Northeastern Ontario’s Health Care Leader
Health Sciences North/Horizon Santé-Nord (HSN) is recruiting health care professionals who have a keen interest in affecting change within its dynamic health care system. As the tertiary care referral centre for the entire Northeastern Ontario region, HSN serves a catchment population of over 600,000 residents. HSN is a Level 2 trauma centre and provides all aspects of care outside of transplant, including oncology, cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, thoracic and vascular surgery.
HSN is currently recruiting locum intensive care medicine specialist, to provide part-time clinical work. Successful candidates will complement an existing team of 14 intensivists, who run a 29 bed ICU where care is provided to a mixture of level 2 and level 3 patients, including Medical/Surgical, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery patients. Our intensivists also provide acute stroke thrombolysis and Critical Care Response Team services. We are fellowship trained and come from a mix of base specialties including internal medicine, nephrology, anesthesiology, thoracic surgery, and hepatobiliary surgery. The Department of Critical Care is currently considering recruiting an additional full time intensivist, if a suitable candidate can be identified. As such, successful candidates who complete locums at HSN will be considered for future employment within our department.
Through the Northern Specialist Locum Program (NSLP) locums will:
- Qualify for travel and accommodation reimbursement,
- Bill fee-for-service,
- Be considered for future full-time, permanent employment!
Applicants must be eligible for an independent CPSO licence and have obtained or be eligible to obtain specialty qualifications by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
