Job Description

Alberta Health Services, Central Zone, and the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, invites applications for the position of a Diagnostic Radiologist to establish a full-time practice in the community of Red Deer. This position requires a scope of practice that includes: Diagnostic Imaging and Minor Diagnostic Imaging-related procedures, focus on Acute Care and Outpatient services at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. Responsibilities may also include administrative duties. The candidate will also participate in on-call duties and provide services at CAMIS clinics.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reside in and have their primary residence within the community of Red Deer;
  • Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services;
  • Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies;
  • Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including full time participation in the Radiology call schedule, as required;
  • Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Diagnostic Imaging;
  • Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs;
  • Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned;
  • Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care 

 

Once chosen, the successful candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing independent outpatient practice or form an independent outpatient office of their own. This is the candidate's independent business decision and will not be managed through the recruitment process.
