Emergency Medicine
Overview
The Hospital provides an array of diagnostic and specialist services including CT, MRI, Hospitalist program, Internal Medicine,
Surgery, Psychiatry, Ob/Gyn, Orthopaedics, Otolaryngology, Urology and an Inpatient Rehabilitation program.
Work Profile
• 37 000 annual ER visits
• 40 hours of physician coverage per day combined between main ED and fast track
• Flexible shift rotations available
• Supplementary earning opportunities: additional ER hours, surgical assists
• The ED/ICU is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team of nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists; as well as social services, pastoral care, crisis intervention, speech, occupational and physio therapists.
Position Requirements
- Fully independent registration (or eligible for) with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Certified with FRCP(C) in Emergency Medicine or CCFP (EM)
- (Candidates with similar work experience may be considered on an individual basis)
- US Board Certified Physician are eligible for independent license in Ontario
- Physicians with Royal College Approved Jurisdiction eligibility eligible for a supervised license with the CPSO.
- Physicians that have successfully completed the RCPSC specialty examination via the RCPSC Practice Eligibility Route and hold the MCCQE1 exam are eligible for a supervised license with the CPSO.
- Emergency Experience; current ACLS, and ATLS
- Experience working with teams and possessing strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
