Job Description
Otorhinolaryngologist, Prescott-Russell County, Eastern Ontario
Introduction
The Hawkesbury & District General Hospital (HGH) is seeking a skilled and dedicated Otorhinolaryngologist to join our dynamic ambulatory and surgical teams. We offer flexible start dates and schedules that can be based on the candidate’s availability. We currently have two ENT surgeons practicing at our institution.
We are seeking a Locum ENT surgeon for this Fall to cover a leave.
Clinical Setting and Duties
Our team is currently composed of Otorhinolaryngologist and Audiologists, who together provide essential services to the residents of Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. Given that 70% of our population is francophone, fluency in both French and English is preferred.
HGH provides attractive benefits such as zero overhead expenses and the opportunity to work in our state-of-the-art, newly constructed ambulatory care department with a Zeiss PICO OPMI S100 microscope and several video rhinolaryngoscopes (ENF-V3) including channeled laryngoscopes to perform in office biopsies. Our ORs have also undergone recent renovations to introduce natural lighting and are equipped with the latest equipment including the NIM Vitals navigator and 4k high resolution monitors in the OR. Procedures currently being done in our OR include:
- FESS - Simple and Bilateral
- Septoplasty or Septorhinoplasty
- Thyroidectomy
- UPPP
- Submandibular Gland Removal
- Open neck biopsy
- Parotidectomy
- Tonsillectomy
- Adenoidectomy
The booking clerks book all audiology tests, follow-ups, consults, and OR procedures for you.
A possibility of 1 day of dedicated OR time per week is available as well as 1 to 2 clinic days per week. A dedicated audiologist is available 2 days a week. In addition, we have a sound booth and the ability to conduct multiple audiology tests, making our facility well-equipped to address hearing-related concerns.
Training
Applicants must have certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent qualification, along with an independent practice license from the College Physician and Surgeons of Ontario.
Setting
HGH is a family and patient-centred bilingual community hospital with a regional focus. Our current team of over 200 physicians and 800 employees committed to delivering exceptional healthcare services and relies on teamwork, innovation, and leadership. HGH is also a proud member of The Atlas Alliance, which has enabled us to adopt a paperless EMR: EPIC, resulting increased efficiency and patient safety.
Located along the Ottawa River, HGH is situated in the beautiful town of Hawkesbury, Ontario, providing the perfect work-life-home-life balance with beautiful scenery and all necessary amenities. If you are seeking a rural hospital that is easily commutable from the city, Hawkesbury is only an hour’s drive from both Montreal and Ottawa.
