A Day in the Life of a CKHA Psychiatrist
Mornings are dedicated to all things “inpatient”. Whether you’ve got patients on the Inpatient Psychiatry Unit or Withdrawal Management Unit, ECTs to conduct or you’re rounding as the ED Liaison, you’ll spend your mornings in the hospital.
Afternoons are dedicated to running the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, located a 3-minute walk from the hospital. A large, private office with natural light awaits you. Here you will see new consults and provide continuing care to those who were previously your inpatients. Referrals are centralized and plentiful, so you can see as many patients as you’d like from your first day at work.
Show me the Money!
Very generous sessional funding payments act as the basis of your income, which provides excellent stability. Specifics will be shared during the interview phase. In addition to this guaranteed income, for all services you provide at the hospital and clinic, you get to bill for and keep 100% of all OHIP billings.
Unlike many locations where operational expenses will eat into your earnings, there are no overhead expenses here. Everything you need (staff, EMR, utilities, supplies) is provided in this turnkey office. You just need to show up and get to work!
Each call shift earns a $547.32 HOCC stipend. Call is 1 in 6 (~5 days/month) and is shared equitably among the team.
Generous financial recruitment incentives ($$$$$) can be used for whatever your heart desires! School loans, family vacation, house down payment…the choice is yours.
