Family Physician Opportunity – Start with 900 plus Patients Ready to Join Your Practice

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Physician to join our collaborative healthcare team. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician looking to establish and grow a long-term family medicine practice in a supportive, well-organized clinical environment.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to begin with approximately 900 patients ready to be assumed into their practice, providing a strong foundation for immediate growth and long-term continuity of care.

The physician will provide comprehensive, patient-centred primary care, including acute care, chronic disease management, pediatric care, preventive medicine, and ongoing follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality primary care for a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history-taking, physical examinations, investigations, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Develop and manage treatment plans, referrals, prescriptions, and follow-up care.
• Provide preventive care, health screening, and patient education.
• Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation using OSCAR Pro EMR by WELL Health.

Practice and Compensation Structure

• Approximately 900 patients are available to be transferred to and assumed by the successful physician, subject to professional requirements.
• The first six months will be a mutual probationary period, during which the physician will practise on a fee-for-service basis.
• During the probationary period, either party may end the arrangement without ongoing liability, subject to applicable professional and legal obligations.
• Following successful completion of the probationary period, patient rostering may begin under the physician’s name.
• Clinic overhead is initially 25%.
• The overhead rate will be reduced to 20% once the physician’s roster reaches 1,500 patients or more.
• The clinic will provide administrative and operational support to assist the physician in developing and maintaining their practice.

Qualifications

• Medical degree and eligibility to practise family medicine in Ontario.
• Current and unrestricted registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
• Valid CMPA coverage.
• Experience in a primary care or family medicine clinic is preferred.
• Experience in acute care, pediatrics, chronic pain management, or home care is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with OSCAR Pro or another electronic medical record system is preferred.
• Previous involvement in research, quality improvement, or clinical data collection is an asset.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical team.
• Compassionate and professional approach to patients from diverse backgrounds.
