CKHA is looking for a physician to join our wonderful team! We have 2 incredible NPs supporting the Complex Continuing Care (“CCC”), Rehab and Medicine units and with 6 Hospitalists rounding per day (0800-1600) and an average of 10-15 acute patients. 

We have added a nocturnist shift to our Emergency Department to act as MRP for patients needing to be admitted after 11pm. 

Hospitalist Program Highlights

• 6 Physicians rounding per day
• Mixed acuity with an average of 10-15 acute patients on census
• Incredible NPs who support the Complex Continuing Care (“CCC”), Rehab and Medicine units
• After 11pm, Emergency Department nocturnist acts as MRP for patients admitted to the Hospitalist unit 
• Consults in house for services for Internal Medicine, General Surgery, ENT, Orthopaedic Surgery, Urology, Anaesthesia, Pathology, Radiology and Psychiatry
• Currently, remuneration is $1300 per week day and $1750 per weekend day or statutory holiday worked
• All call will be paid a $487.94 HOCC stipend directly to you
• You can work as little as 1 week per month (Monday to Sunday). If you want to join us full time, we can offer 2 weeks per month
• Generous financial recruitment incentives are being offered for fulltime recruits
• Call will be shared equally amongst all Hospitalists on service with two calls per day
• Hospitalist call covers the Acute Medicine floors and admissions from the ER from 2pm-11pm 
• The Family Practice Call covers Rehab and CCC floors. Physicians will get one of each call per week on average

Internal Medicine Program Highlights

• The IM 12 (level 2) Progressive Care Unit (PCU) beds with a dedicated NP
• The option to participate in our CAD clinic for exercise and nuclear stress tests. Plus the TIA clinic
• Options to read ECGs, PFTs, and Holter monitors available, with CKHA billing on the physician’s behalf 
• The Medical Affairs Department can also support in setting up an outpatient practice.
• The PCU is covered during the day via a weekly 7 day schedule comprised of all internists. Call coverage is split among those in the Department of Internal Medicine with an average call of 3 times per month. 
• Fee for service payment and call is eligible for HOCC payments made directly to the physician 
• Earn some extra money by becoming an Adjunct Professor with Western University and teach the next generation of medical students and residents your craft.

Family or Internal Medicine physicians with inpatient care experience and an independent CPSO licence wanted. Awesome people preferred! New grads or upcoming grads are welcome!
