The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) is seeking a family physician to provide clinical services for subacute patients at the Civic Campus. Our Transitional Care Units are currently hiring for one full-time equivalent position, starting September 2025. Our program offers flexible arrangements to fit hospitalist medicine into outpatient practices. Practice Setting:
• The Ottawa Hospital – Civic campus
• Transitional Care Units (TCU) for patients who have completed their acute inpatient stay and are awaiting disposition planning
• EPIC EMR – full training provided The Ideal Hospitalist candidate will:
• Strive for excellent patient care
• Possess great interdisciplinary collaboration skills • Be Family Medicine (CCFP) trained • Have subacute hospitalist experience • Have excellent English language communication skills; French would be an asset • Possess an independent license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
• Be registered in good standing with the CMPA Work Expectations:
• Provide inpatient care for Subacute Medical Inpatients
• Workload is approximately 17-20 subacute patients
• Business day rounding daily only
• Approximate rotation is 3 weeks on, 1 week off
• Home call is required, rotating with other colleagues to provide on-call coverage
o approximately 1 week of call for every 6-8 weeks of service
o call is divided into Monday-Thursday and Friday-Sunday coverage
o on-call coverage is combined with TCU General Campus
