PROFILE:

Lake of the Woods District Hospital (LWDH) is a full-service teaching hospital with a 4-bed ICU and three modern OR theatres supported by 24/7 Laboratory, DI and Emergency.  Three general surgeons provide a variety of procedures and are the sole providers of all needed endoscopies. C-sections are provided by three GP-obstetricians; general surgeons are not required to perform C-sections.  We are located 2.5 hours east of Winnipeg Manitoba in Kenora Ontario. 

Kenora, Ontario is the largest healthcare site in Northwestern Ontario outside of Thunder Bay, with a service area population of approximately 30, 000 that more than doubles in the summer months as seasonal residents and visitors come to enjoy lake-life and all that the area has to offer. Kenora showcases a variety of exceptional seasonal recreational activities such as sailing in the summer, boasting the home of the Royal Lake of the Woods Yacht club, 1 of only 9 Royal Yacht Clubs in Canada, and in the winter Kenora enjoys both downhill and cross-country skiing opportunities, including a strong multi-sport community such as the Kenora Nordic and Biathlon Club, and the Kenora Borealis Multisport Club.

NSLP will reimburse for base travel and accommodation expenses.
