GENERAL SURGEON – Milton – Full Time

Halton Healthcare is currently seeking a General Surgeon to join our General Surgery group at the Milton District Hospital. The successful applicant will join a collaborative General Surgery division at Halton Healthcare comprised of three community hospitals in the growing urban and rural communities of Halton Hills with a catchment area of over 400,000 people. Halton Healthcare is undergoing a large organizational change as we strive to provide exemplary care for the population in the fastest growing communities in the Greater Toronto Area and in Canada. One Halton Healthcare is a transformational initiative designed to integrate care across our three hospitals (Georgetown, Milton, and Oakville) and nine community sites in response to projected population growth, increasing demand for services, and the need for more equitable access to care.

The Division of General Surgery currently consists of five General Surgeons at Milton District Hospital. There is a full complement of FRCSC trained, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, urology, plastic surgery, and otolaryngology specialists. A closed ICU, and advanced diagnostic and interventional radiology are also available. The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to surgical education at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Position Details:

• Fellowship training or special interest in colorectal surgery preferred
• 1 OR day per week with possibility for additional time
• 5 Endoscopy blocks per month and 1 Outpatient Clinic day per month
• Participation in 1 in 5 on-call schedule
•      Candidates must have certification in General Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed in the Province of Ontario
• Anticipated Start Date: September 2025
