Job Description
The Department of Hospitalist Medicine is seeking full and part-time physicians (locum or permanent) to expand its complement of permanent physicians.
Position Precis
The Department of Hospitalist Medicine is looking to grow its complement of full-time and part-time Hospitalists in Owen Sound. Supported by 1 full-time Nurse Practitioner, our team schedules four Hospitalists per weekday. Full-time physicians average 34 weeks per year; part-time averages 20-24 weeks per year. Flexible scheduling is encouraged and supported.
Qualifications
Interested candidates should be CCFP and have an independent license to practice in Ontario.
A minimum of 2 weeks locum coverage is recommended as part of the recruitment process.
Remuneration
Competitive daily stipend, HOCC allowance and FFS evening and weekend billings.
Hospital based office and computer provided for permanent members.
Relocation allowance and other recruitment incentives for permanent physicians.
Preference will be given to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents. Only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
About the Hospitalist Medicine Department
Hospitalists provide care for non-critical care medical and/or surgical patients over the age of 18. On-Call support also includes rehabilitation and psychogeriatric units. Each Hospitalist carries a maximum patient load of 15 patients. The average on-call commitment includes 2 weeknights and 1 in 4 weekends. There is excellent support from consultant specialists and the emergency department, as well 24-hour labs and comprehensive diagnostic imaging (CT, MRI, PACS capability). Educational affiliations with the Rural Ontario Medical Program (ROMP) and the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry provide a wide range of teaching opportunities.
