Job Description

LIVE AND THRIVE: MEDICINE AND COMMUNITY IN CRANBROOK, BC

Tucked between towering peaks, glistening lakes, and rolling foothills lies Cranbrook—the heart of British Columbia's scenic Kootenay region. This extraordinary haven is not just a place; it's an experience for the soul. Whether you have a passion for the arts, crave exhilarating adventures, or seek the warmth of a close-knit community, Cranbrook offers it all.

Lose yourself in the pristine beauty of Wasa and Moyie Lakes, where swimming, paddleboarding, and windsurfing await. Set off on a river safari along the mesmerizing St. Mary River, navigating its currents on a canoe, kayak, or raft. The angler's paradise of the Kootenay and Bull rivers teems with rainbow, cutthroat, and bull trout.

Swing like Arnold Palmer on any of the region's seven championship golf courses, including Shadow Mountain and Wildstone. The vast network of trails beckons you to push your limits with mountain biking, hiking, and climbing across seven unique crags.

The Powder Highway runs through the heart of the Canadian Rockies near Cranbrook, with renowned winter destinations like Fernie, Kimberley, and Fairmont just an hour away. Experience heart-stopping days carving down alpine bowls, shredding uncrowded trails, and conquering daring steeps in this winter sports playground.

Immerse yourself in Cranbrook's pulsating arts scene, savour locally brewed craft beer, and delight in farm-to-table cuisine. Discover a community where families flourish with a broad spectrum of recreational activities that captivate children's imaginations. Consider picturesque towns like Kimberley or Jaffray as your home base—only a 25-minute commute from Cranbrook, balancing convenience and serene beauty.

Step into a life where your dreams find space to grow, where the only limits are those of the horizon. Welcome to Cranbrook, where boundless opportunities await.

VISIONARY CARE: CRAFTING YOUR CLINICAL PATH

Shape the future of healthcare in Cranbrook at East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH), where your expertise and compassion will significantly impact patient care. Join a dynamic mental health team extending services from inpatient and outpatient settings to community-driven initiatives and Indigenous collaborations, embodying a holistic approach to wellness.

In our 12-bed inpatient unit, outpatient clinic, and through consultations in medical, surgical units, and the ER, you'll provide comprehensive care. Beyond the hospital, your efforts will enhance mental health access in the rural East Kootenays, pioneering innovative treatment with our clinical teams and Indigenous partners.

This role is rich with opportunities to address chronic conditions, substance use disorders, and lead mental health strategies, offering a special welcome to those interested in ECT. Here, you're positioned to effect substantial change and uplift regional lives.

At EKRH, we're committed to your growth, fostering work-life balance, continuous learning, and career advancement within a supportive community. You'll engage in ongoing education and professional development opportunities, equipping you with the tools to excel and bring innovative practices to your field.

Practicing here transcends the conventional job experience; you're joining a team deeply committed to enhancing public health. In this role, your desire to make a meaningful difference complements our nurturing environment, leading to a career filled with satisfaction, advancement, and the chance to influence both your professional trajectory and the well-being of the community we support.
