Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Internal Medicine Specialist to join our healthcare team. This role offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive patient care across diverse settings, including hospital and outpatient environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, experience in acute and chronic care, and a passion for improving patient outcomes. Prior experience with electronic medical records and medical terminology is essential. This position is integral to delivering high-quality medical services, supporting research initiatives, and advancing patient-centered care.
Credentials, certificates, licences, memberships, and courses :
- Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC)
- Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II)
- Specialty residency training
- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination
- Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
Experience and specialization: Specialization in clinical medicine
- Internal medicine
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Manage acute care cases, including urgent medical conditions and pain management
- Provide adult patient care, ensuring safety and comfort
- Administer medications accurately and monitor patient responses
- Collect and analyze clinical data to inform treatment strategies
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic and Cerner for documentation and data management
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care
- Participate in research activities aimed at improving clinical practices and patient outcomes
- Educate patients on health management, medication use, and preventive care measures
- Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders
- May conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods
- Prescribe medication and treatment
- Refer patients for surgery
- Treat diseases and physiological disorders
- Act as consultants to other physicians
- Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures
- Support home care services by providing guidance on ongoing treatment needsSkills
- Proven hospital experience with a strong background in internal medicine
- Expertise in acute care, pain management, pediatrics, and patient care protocols
- Proficiency in medical terminology and familiarity with electronic health record systems like Epic and Cerner
- Experience in medical office operations, data collection, and medication administration
- Ability to perform comprehensive assessments and develop effective treatment plans
- Strong communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Knowledge of research methodologies related to internal medicine practices
- Experience with home care coordination is a plus
- Ability to adapt quickly to evolving clinical environments while maintaining high standards of care
