Job Description
Job Description: NBRHC Anaesthesiologists provide general anaesthesia services to general surgery, orthopedic surgery, obstetrics & gynecology, otolaryngology, urology, ophthalmology, dental surgery, ECT and the preadmission clinic. Proficiency in community pediatric anaesthesia is required. The service also provides consultative support for vented patients in the critical care unit.
Locum anaesthetists will be provided a daily room assignment (Monday-Friday) and will participate in the on-call roster as negotiated. On-Call services includes CCU consultive support for vented patients. Locums are available in one week increments and can also be negotiated for longer terms. Dates are also flexible.
Qualifications: Qualified applicants will have licensure to practice independently in Ontario and a standing anaesthesiology fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Hospital Information: North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) is a unique health care organization with three primary roles: providing acute care services to North Bay and its surrounding communities, functioning as the district referral center providing specialist services for smaller communities in the area, and it is the specialized mental health service provider serving all of northeast Ontario. NBRHC is a 433 bed hospital with acute care services including a 24/7 emergency department, 8 theatre OR, 13 bed PACU, endoscopy suite, ophthalmology suite, labour & delivery suite and a 16 bed CCU.

Remuneration: This position will be remunerated with a combination of OHIP billings fee for service (or clinical sessionals) and Hospital On-Call Compensation (HOCC). Our locums are HealthForce Ontario NSLP funded (urgent coverage) which includes daily honorarium, travel sessionals as well as travel and accommodation expenses.
