Alexandra Marine & General Hospital is seeking a locum Hospitalist to support our inpatient program. Join a collaborative clinical team while enjoying one of Ontario’s most beautiful lakeside communities.

✨ Compensation:

• $1,900 daily stipend (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
• $330 per on call shift, plus any applicable FFS billings (5:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.)

Key Responsibilities

Comprehensive Inpatient Care

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and complex illnesses (e.g., pneumonia, diabetes, cardiac conditions).
• Provide care across 22 acute care beds: general medicine, surgery, obstetrics, and intensive/coronary care.

Care Coordination & Communication

• Act as the central point of contact for specialists, nurses, and allied health teams.
• Maintain clear and compassionate communication with patients and families regarding care plans, risks, and progress.

Diagnostics & Treatment

• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and other diagnostics.
• Utilize on-site technology, including a CT scanner, a Telestroke-enabled ER, a Dialysis Unit, and P.A.C.S.
• MRI services are currently in development.

Discharge & Transition Planning

• Coordinate follow-up care, rehab services, home health, and community supports to ensure safe patient transitions.

Quality Improvement & Leadership

• Participate in committees and initiatives promoting safety, efficiency, and excellence in patient care.
