The Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University and McMaster Children’s Hospital are seeking a Pediatric Infectious Diseases specialist for a 6-12 month locum tenens position in the division of Pediatric Infectious Disease.
The anticipated start date for this position is October 1, 2025.
McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH) is a globally renowned pediatric hospital dedicated to children’s health delivering excellence in clinical care, child health research, and education. It is home to some of the country’s most respected pediatric care programs, including Canada’s largest NICU and the largest prosthetic and orthotics facility of its kind. MCH also houses one of Ontario’s fastest-growing pediatric emergency departments, the largest inpatient child and youth mental health unit, and more. MCH is undergoing the most significant expansion in its history, fueled by a landmark provincial investment to expand critical services, add top-tier clinicians, and improve access to cutting-edge pediatric care for families across Ontario.

The successful candidate will be responsible for direct patient care including inpatient clinical service, with a focus on outpatient clinic, as well as educational teaching in the division of Pediatric Infectious Disease. Candidates should possess excellent clinical skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with families in the care of children. Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong commitment to best practice and advancing knowledge in the field of Infectious Diseases. Additionally, there is an expectation of excellence in the commitment to teaching across the spectrum of learners.
Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario.
