Summer Locum Opportunity – Palliative Medicine Physician
Newmarket, Ontario
July 2, 2026 | 3-Month Term | Fee-for-Service
Southlake Health is seeking a Summer Locum Palliative Medicine Physician to join our vibrant, diverse, and highly supportive interdisciplinary team, which includes 10 physicians currently on staff.
Southlake offers a unique continuity-of-care model, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to practice across multiple care settings.
Role Overview
The selected physician will primarily support the team through:
• Inpatient palliative care consultations and follow-ups
• Care within our dedicated Palliative Care Unit
• Clinical work at Margaret Bahen Hospice
• Community-based home visits
This is an excellent opportunity to experience a broad and integrated palliative care practice within a collaborative environment.
Academic Environment
Southlake is a teaching site affiliated with the University of Toronto, Division of Palliative Care. The successful candidate will have opportunities to work alongside:
• Family Medicine Residents
• Elective Palliative Care Fellows
Qualifications
• Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice medicine in Ontario
• Additional training in Palliative Medicine
• Strong collaborative and interdisciplinary practice approach
Compensation
• Remuneration under a fee-for-service model
Term
• 3-month locum
• Start date: July 2, 2026
