ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

NL Health Services – Eastern Urban Zone invites applications for a permanent full-time Pediatric Allergist & Immunologist to join the Janeway Children's Health and Rehabilitation Centre in St. John's, NL.

The successful candidate will provide individualized direct and indirect patient care to patients within the program and will assume an equitable share of the outpatient and inpatient demands of the Division, associated with on-call requirements. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the incumbent will be responsible for the provision of clinical care and teaching of medical learners. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
• Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology (or equivalent)
• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
• Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide individualized direct and indirect patient care to pediatric patients within the Allergy & Immunology program
• Assume an equitable share of outpatient and inpatient responsibilities including on-call coverage
• Work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
• Provide teaching and clinical supervision to medical learners
• Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements

REMUNERATION

As per Memorandum of Agreement

Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador. Starting salary will be based on years of clinical experience with yearly progression thereafter.
