Island Health has a locum position available for a Pediatric Respirologist in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia.
The Pediatric Respiratory Clinic provides medical consultations, patient management and all other required respiratory services to pediatric patients from all across Vancouver Island. The service is supported by a clinic RN and RT.
Physician duties include:
Asthma clinic at VGH
In-patient consultations VGH
Consulting respiratory services for all Vancouver Island
Outreach Respiratory clinic in Duncan
Interpretation of all Pediatric Pulmonary Function Tests in Victoria and Duncan
Conducting and interpreting overnight oximetries in Victoria and Duncan (~300/year).
The service also conducts a Complex Care Clinic – managing all technology dependent children on the Island, e.g., Home Ventilation, CPAP/BiPAP, in home High-Flow + O2, Tracheostomy, G/J-tube feeding.
Eligible applicants will hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Pediatrics and be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C.
Eligible applicants will hold sub-specialty certification in Pediatric Respirology.
The Department of Pediatrics in Victoria provides services to a 350,000 direct referral population. VGH serves as the community and regional tertiary pediatric center for Vancouver Island. You will join staff consisting of general pediatricians, with pediatric-specific subspecialty support including NICU, PICU, cardiology, respirology, neurology, nephrology, rheumatology, pediatric general surgery, urology, oncology, allergy & immunology.
