🏥 Sunset Country Family Health Team (SCFHT) | All Nations Health Partners Ontario Health Team
Practice full-scope rural family medicine with the support to do it properly.
Sunset Country Family Health Team is seeking locum and full-time Family Physicians to join our clinics in Kenora. This is a team-based model where you can provide comprehensive, longitudinal care, not just episodic visits and referrals.
The Opportunity
- 8-hour clinic days within a structured, well-supported team environment
- Full-time opportunities available for those looking to build and maintain a patient panel
- Flexibility to incorporate:
- Emergency Department shifts
- Surgical Assist (optional)
- Obstetrics call/C-Section coverage
- Hospitalist (if working full-time in the community)
- Broad scope of practice with a diverse and complex patient population
This is a setting where you’re able to manage care, follow patients over time, and maintain clinical variety.
Clinic & Team
You’ll be working within an interdisciplinary team that includes:
- Nurse Practitioners
- Nursing staff (RPN support in clinic)
- Social Work, Dietitian, Pharmacist, and other allied health
Clinics are fully supported with:
- Administrative support (booking, billing, transcription, records)
- EMR (Telus PSS)
The structure allows you to focus on clinical decision-making and patient care, not administrative burden.
Remuneration
- $1,749.77 per 8-hour clinic day + 20% shadow billing
- Additional income available through:
- Emergency Department shifts
- On-call surgical assists
- Obstetrics on call
- Hospitalist (accessible for physicians practicing full-time in the area)
Qualifications
- Eligible for independent practice with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
- CMPA coverage (Ontario)
For optional ED work:
- ED experience with independent license
- ACLS, ATLS, PALS or CCFP(EM), or FRCPC(EM) preferred
Practice Context
Kenora is a regional centre serving a broad catchment area across Northwestern Ontario, including surrounding rural and First Nations communities. You will see a wider scope of medicine than in many urban settings, with the ability to build continuity of patient care.
