Alberta Health Services, Central Zone, and the Department of Respiratory Medicine at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, invites applications for a Respirologist to establish a part-time practice in the community of Red Deer. This position requires a scope of practice that includes: Community Clinic Practice, Inpatient & Outpatient Services, Emergency Consults, and Specialist On-Call Coverage.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

·        Reside in and have as his/her primary residence within the community of Red Deer, or immediate surrounding area;

·        Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services;

·        Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies;

·        Establish and maintain full time community based practice within the community;

·        Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including participation in the Respiratory and General Internal Medicine call schedule, as required;

·        Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department Medicine;

·        Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs;

·        Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned;

·        Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care

Required Qualifications:

• Have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (required with application);
• Have or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC);
•  Have sub-specialty certification or equivalent in Respirology, or be currently enrolled in a Respirology Residency Program;
•  Must have recent and relevant experience in all areas of practice required
