Thunder Bay Paediatrician Full Time Coverage for 6 month Locum

We are looking for a full time locum to cover a maternity leave from May 1 to October 31, 2026. We would be happy to also consider candidates who are able to cover for a shorter time commitment as well.

As a member of our team, you will assist in the provision of Pediatric Care in the following program components;

· Level IIC NICU

· Paediatric inpatient care including on call coverage

· Outpatient paediatric clinic including diabetes care, complex care, development, mental health, and all aspects of general paediatrics

The position includes:

· Opportunity to join an established group practice (Thunder Bay Paediatrics)

· Participation in On-Call at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (1:10)

· Generously funded via an Alternate Payment Plan (APP)

· Outpatient clinic space

· Eligible for licensure in Ontario and a Royal College certified Paediatrician

· Interested in teaching medical students & residents

About our Practice:

The paediatrics group in Thunder Bay includes ten paediatricians who serve the children of Northwestern Ontario from just past Sault Ste Marie to the Manitoba border including the fly in Indigenous reserve communities and split inpatient work evenly. Our regional hospital, Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, has a 14 bed Level 2C NICU, a 12 bed inpatient paediatrics unit, a new neonatal/paediatric transport team, provides inpatient on call coverage, and each have our own outpatient paediatric practice, located at Thunder Bay Paediatrics. We are a friendly and supportive team who are happy to provide guidance.

Our program features numerous subspecialty clinics, including diabetes, autism, gender affirming care, eating disorders, complex care, hematology, allergy, transport medicine, and a Paediatric Oncology Group of Ontario satellite clinic. This role offers a unique opportunity for academic scholarship, including teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical learners from NOSM University including our paediatric residents.
