The average gross income of a Psychiatrist in Alberta is $398,438. Compensation for this opportunity is based on a fee for-service model and may include additional program stipends.

Remuneration Compensation is provided through the University of Calgary Family Medicine Preceptors (FMP) Clinical Alternative Relationship Plan (ARP).  This comprehensive payment module allows our Physicians to provide exceptional, quality care, while acknowledging time spent teaching.

FFS Remuneration can range between $300,000 to $800,000 per year depending on the number of shifts, patients seen, education & experiences. Total compensation for fee-for-service billings varies by individual practitioner, and the compensation shown reflects the average amounts for this specialty as reported by Alberta Health. NAP ARP will be at an hourly rate of $228.25.

Competitive remuneration under the ACFP contract; call reimbursements through the Specialist Emergency Coverage Program; fee-for-service billing for clinical work.

Contract; may qualify for Emergency Medicine Recruitment and Retention Incentive of up to $200,000. Emergency Medicine residents: $30,000 bursaries.

Reimbursed via the Specialist Emergency Coverage Program; physicians may also bill fee-for-service for work completed. Method of payment: Contract.
