Job Description

ACADEMIC INFECTIOUS DISEASES SPECIALIST

Department of Medicine, McMaster University

The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences invite applications for an Academic Infectious Diseases Physician.

Applicants will have completed specialty training in Internal Medicine and further fellowship training in Infectious Diseases or equivalent. The successful candidate will provide approximately fifteen weeks of in-patient infectious disease consultation, primarily at our Juravinski Hospital site, and is expected to contribute to the infectious disease outpatient service. Optimally, the candidate will have a master’s degree in public health, clinical epidemiology, education, quality improvement, or in another relevant field. Experience and interest in the development and implementation of internal antibiotic treatment guidelines would be an asset.

This is a full-time faculty position for a period of three years (renewable). Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will be a full-time member of the Division of Infectious Diseases and be expected to contribute to the academic mission of the Faculty and Division. The successful candidate should have a proven track record in undergraduate and/or postgraduate education and will be expected to fully participate in all the appropriate departmental and divisional educational activities.

Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario.

Please apply online to Job Opening 78227 via the McMaster Academic Careers website http://www.workingatmcmaster.ca/careers/ directing your application to:
