Job Description
Halton Healthcare is an innovative, growing organization with three progressive community hospitals, providing quality health services to more than 350,000 Halton residents. Halton Healthcare is Accredited with Exemplary Standing by Accreditation Canada.
ANATOMIC or GENERAL PATHOLOGIST
Halton Healthcare is accepting applications for a full time Anatomic or General Pathologist to join the Department of Laboratory Medicine.
In rotation with other pathologists in the Department, the successful candidate will provide on-call coverage, general surgical pathology and cytopathology services, interpret peripheral blood smears and bone marrow aspirates, as well as cover a limited number of hospital autopsies. Each Pathologist provides services across Halton Healthcare, including the Oakville, Milton and Georgetown Hospital sites.
Candidates must be licensed to practice in Ontario and hold a specialist certificate in Anatomic or General Pathology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. This position offers the opportunity to join a service with a strong emphasis on breast, gynecologic, genitourinary, gastrointestinal, head and neck and hematologic pathology. Subspecialty training/expertise and demonstrated diagnostic excellence in one or more of these disciplines are highly desirable. Prior experience in a community or academic practice setting will be considered a distinct advantage.
At Halton Healthcare, you will thrive in a healthcare culture and environment that embraces inclusion, high performance, and integrity with “exemplary patient experiences, always” at the heart of everything we do. We empower our people to excel so they can make a meaningful difference for our patients, their colleagues, and the communities we serve.
If you are passionate about your work, motivated by excellence, and committed to quality, innovation and patient centred care as we are, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Interested individuals should submit a covering letter and an up-to-date curriculum vitae by November 14, 2025, to Dr. Nadeen Edmondson, Corporate Chief of Laboratory Medicine at ***@haltonhealthcare.com (🔒 Premium).
We thank all those who apply but only those individuals selected for further consideration will be contacted. All appointments are subject to Board approval.
In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and the Ontario Human Rights Code, Halton Healthcare will provide accommodations throughout the recruitment and selection process. If you require an accommodation, we will work with you to meet your accommodation needs to ensure your equal participation.
