Position Overview, Schedule, and Supports:

Position Overview & Schedule

TBRHSC serves as a tertiary care trauma center, providing anesthesia for a wide range of cases, both elective and emergency. This encompasses general surgery, orthopedics, thoracics, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, plastic surgery, as well as obstetrical anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and airway support for the ICU as required. (Note: Cardiac and complex elective pediatric cases are excluded). The scope of practice for applicants can be adjusted to exclude on-call duties if the aforementioned services cannot be provided, and Family Practice Anesthesia candidates may have their cases customized according to their comfort and experience. Locum assignments of a minimum of two weeks are accepted, and long-term locum positions, as well as regularly recurring locums, can be arranged. Locums may be considered for both full-time and part-time roles following successful performance.

Compensation and Expense Reimbursement:

Compensation:

Billing FFS to OHIP, or claiming the NSLP Urgent stipend, whichever is the greater value. An OHIP billing number is required for either form of remuneration.

Travel: Travel costs (flights/mileage/car rentals) are reimbursed via the NSLP locum rates. Ask our physician recruiter about our discounted car rental rates for locums. Locums are also eligible for a travel sessional and honorarium.

Accommodations: Ask our physician recruiter about our discounted accommodation rates for locums.

Accommodations expenses are reimbursed by the Ontario Health NSLP.

Additional Incentives:

Licensing and Credentialing

Locums must hold a valid CPSO license and be credentialed at our hospital.
