Brightshores Health System (Brightshores) operates six hospitals in the Grey Bruce region with its Level 2 regional referral hospital located in the City of Owen Sound.  

Service Delivery

To support the consolidation of several corporate surgical services, we have an immediate need for additional full-time Anesthesiologists, based at the Owen Sound hospital. This vibrant community practice includes service to orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, thoracics, obs/gyn, vascular and endoscopy. ACP and ECT services also provided. Teaching opportunities for residents fr om various medical schools also available. 

 On-call: ~1 in 8 

Compensation

Fee for service. Contact us to discuss annual compensation range.

 Qualifications

Interested candidates must hold applicable FRCPC designation, or requiste eligibility. 

An independent license to practice in Ontario preferred; approved licensing pathway in Ontario also accepted.

Preference will be given to Canadian citizens or permanent residents. 

Residency training accepted as min work experience. 

Terms

Full-time, permanent. 

Primary location - Brightshores Owen Sound hospital. Seconday location(s) at other Brightshores hospitals (e.g., Meaford) per resource availability. 

Language of work is English.

General Duties

Administering pain relief before, during and after medical procedures.

Performing specific clinical procedures and monitoring patients' vital signs during various procedures or surgeries.

Approving general, sedatve, regional, or local anesthestics.

Reviewing medical files and lab results, clinical documentation.

Informing patients of risks associated with anestheisa.

Complying with medical and hospital policies and procedures.
