Job Description
The Department of Anesthesia is seeking either Royal College or GP anesthesia locums to to fill various schedule gaps.
The Timmins and District Hospital is a 225-bed district hospital serving a local population of 41,000 and a catchment area of 110,000. Timmins is located in Northeastern Ontario, and is a fully accredited referral and teaching hospital and offers a full range of Medical, Surgical, Critical Care, Maternal/Child, Long Term Care, and Mental Health Services.
Details of Anesthesiologist work:
A usual locum block is 4-7 days and includes a daily OR list with 3-4 on call days (may include weekends if requested). We provide coverage for three to four operating rooms daily. Surgical specialties include General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Ophthalmology/Retina, OB/GYN, and Urology.
Remuneration is as per HFO Guidelines for the Northern Specialist Locum Program.
Your traveling expenses of airfare and/or mileage, local car rental, and accommodations will be covered.
Position Requirements
Candidates must:
- have Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Anesthesiology or CCFP-FPA.
- be licensed to practice as an Anesthesiologist in the Province of Ontario.
- have Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage.
- have an independent practice license with the CPSO.
- have an active OHIP billing number.
- possess excellent clinical skills.
- have a commitment to patient safety and high standards of care.
** Approval based on successful credentialing for medical staff privileges.
