Job Description
The Department of Surgery is seeking Orthopedic Surgery locums to fill various schedule gaps.
The Timmins and District Hospital is a 225-bed district hospital serving a local population of 41,000 and a catchment area of 110,000. Timmins is located in Northeastern Ontario, and is a fully accredited referral and teaching hospital and offers a full range of Medical, Surgical, Critical Care, Maternal/Child, Long Term Care, and Mental Health Services.
Details of TADH's Surgical Department:
Surgeons at TADH perform 1,500 inpatient and over 2,500 day surgeries annually. The department is supported by our team of specialists including Pediatrics, Radiology, OB/GYN, ICU, Internal Medicine, ENT, Psychiatry, Addictions Medicine, Orthopedics, Anesthesia, Urology, Ophthalmology and Nephrology. Our surgeons also have quick access to TADH's state of the art DI Dept., including CT and MRI.
Remuneration is a combined compensation of $2,252.80/day, as per HFO Guidelines for the Northern Specialist Locum Program.
Your traveling expenses of airfare and/or mileage, local car rental and accommodations as well as a travel honorarium will be covered.
Position Requirements
Candidates must:
- have Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Orthopedic Surgery.
- be licensed to practice as an Orthopedic Surgeon in the Province of Ontario.
- have Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage.
- have an independent practice license with the CPSO.
- have an active OHIP billing number.
- possess excellent clinical and surgical skills.
- have a commitment to patient safety and high standards of care.
