Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Attending Physician to provide high-quality medical care to residents in a well-established nursing home in the beautiful city of Guelph, On. We are a small rural home with a rural culture within the home. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with nursing staff, allied health professionals, and families to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care to an elderly and medically complex population.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for physicians interested in geriatrics, chronic disease management, and continuity of care in a supportive, team-based environment. The home is a 58 bed home and the attending physician would be responsible for managing the care of up to 29 long-term care beds.
Qualifications:
-Medical degree and completion of residency training from recognized educational institute and current licensure with good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
-Experience in geriatrics and long-term care is strongly preferred, care of the elderly training is also an asset.
-Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
-Continuing Education: Ongoing education to stay updated on best practices, new treatments, and changes in regulations related to long-term care.
-Compassion and Patience: A strong commitment to patient-centered care, empathy, and understanding the unique needs of elderly patients.
