- Communicate and collaborate with residents, families’/substitute decision-makers, nursing staff, allied health professionals, and other members of the care team.
- Provide or make reasonable arrangements for after-hours and on-call medical coverage for residents under their care.
- When personally unavailable for on-call responsibilities, advise the Home of appropriate emergency medical services or alternative medical coverage that may be utilized.
- Notify the Administrator, Director of Care, and Medical Director if they are no longer available to provide medical care to a resident so that alternative medical coverage can be arranged.
- Participate, where possible and appropriate, in-home committees and quality improvement activities, as requested by the Medical Director, Administrator, and/or Director of Care. Examples may include:
- Continuous Quality Improvement;
- Infection Prevention and Control;
- Professional Advisory Committee;
