This position is a COMMUNITY position and is NOT part of Alberta Health Services.
Job Description:
We are looking for a Medical Otolaryngologist to join our busy practice in downtown Edmonton. This position focuses on the non-surgical management of hearing disorders, vertigo, and urgent medical ENT referrals. The successful candidate will:
- Provide expert medical care for patients with hearing loss, vestibular disorders, and other non-surgical ENT concerns.
- Focus on underserved and vulnerable populations, particularly immigrant communities and Indigenous communities.
- Collaborate with family medicine clinics and primary care networks (PCNs) to facilitate smooth transitions for patients needing specialty care.
- Offer after-hours care (evenings, 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM) for non-urgent ENT issues, reducing the burden on surgical otolaryngologists and emergency services.
Physicians will also be expected to share in on-call duties as per CPSA guidelines for non-surgical ENT.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have CPSA license or demonstrate CPSA license in progress : this includes those eligible for Preliminary Clinical Assessment (PCA) and/or Supervised Practice Assessment (SPA)
- Malpractice insurance through the CMPA
- Proficiency in English required; fluency in French, Mandarin, Punjabi, Arabic or other languages spoken by Edmonton's immigrant communities is an asset
- Experience in non-surgical ENT management, particularly with hearing and vestibular disorders
- Ability to work with diverse populations, including immigrant and underserved communities
