Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor, invites applications for the role of Corridor Clinical Section Lead (CCSL), Urology.
This 0.10 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Corridor Clinical Department Lead (CCDL), Surgery. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available.
The Section Lead, Urology, Edmonton Corridor, is a senior medical leadership position that provides essential support to the Edmonton Corridor Clinical Department Lead (CCDL), Surgery. In this role, the Section Lead offers expert advice and guidance on matters within the Clinical Department of Surgery.
The Section Lead works closely with the CCDL, Hospital Site Leads, Hospital Section Leads, Medical Directors, and other leaders. They also collaborate with physicians, surgeons, operational leaders, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure patients receive high‑quality care and that resources are used appropriately.
This role is vital to the effective functioning of the Section of Urology and to the many other sections that depend on it for patient care. It also plays a key part in supporting educational programs at the University of Alberta by ensuring adequate learning resources are available and strong engagement from the Section Lead is critical to the success of the Alberta Surgical Initiative.
The position has an expected term of 3 years.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and a passion for quality and patient safety while working as part of a leadership team. They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant experience in medical leadership and are considered a strong clinician by their peers.
Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
