Our client, Hanover & District Hospital (HDH), is a full service, fully accredited 24-bed (22 Acute Care beds and 2 ICU beds) community hospital that provides both inpatient and outpatient care to the population of Hanover and surrounding areas.  HDH has state-of-the-art equipment including: 24-hour CT Scan service; an integrated health record; PACS; and computerized physician order entry.  The hospital is located in spectacular Southwestern Ontario close to the beautiful beaches of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay as well as the ski hills at Blue Mountain in Collingwood.

With approximately 20,000 ED visits per year, the collegial Emergency Medicine Team provides 24/7 high quality care to a diverse mixture of clinical cases.  The Emergency Department provides a full range of services to meet the unscheduled and emergency healthcare needs for patients in the region.  The Emergency Medicine team is supported 24/7 with surgical and anesthesia coverage as well as 24/7 access to obstetrical expertise.            

The Hanover Medical Associates houses family physician practices and is conveniently located right beside the Hanover & District Hospital.  On the first floor, you will find the Hanover Medical Associates, accommodating up to 15 physician offices and a waiting room that can seat up to 70 people.  

The Hanover Family Health Team is designed to meet the needs of the Hanover and surrounding area population providing primary care services.  It is conveniently located on the 2nd floor of the Hanover & District Hospital which is right next door to the Hanover Medical Associates.

Hanover & District Hospital is seeking full-time or part-time dynamic and dedicated physicians to join their team providing care in their Emergency Department and / or in an onsite turn key FHO group Family Medicine practice.  These flexible and rewarding opportunities are ideal for physicians looking to make a meaningful impact in a vibrant rural community while enjoying a diverse and balanced clinical practice.

Successful candidates will be CCFP, or DABFM, or CCFP-EM, or ABEM certified, and must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.  CPSO pathway licensure is easily available for US Board Certified Physicians with new regulations implemented in 2023 that have created a straight forward licensure process without the requirement for supervision.

Offering great flexibility to achieve an ideal work/life balance, these positions offer a very attractive compensation structure, relocation funding, and a very generous $150,000 return of service incentive for full time equivalent positions or pro rata return of service incentive for part time positions.

HGH is offering Emergency Medicine Practice opportunities and / or very flexible turn key Family Medicine or OB Family Medicine practice opportunities that are available on site at the hospital and can be customized to suit your desired mix and clinical practice scope.

Physicians at HDH have the opportunity to educate and mentor students and residents from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, professional staff members are eligible to hold a University appointment.
