Job Description
The Department of Ophthalmology is searching for occasional locums to cover gaps in our schedule.
The Timmins and District Hospital is a 225-bed district hospital serving a local population of 41,000 and a catchment area of 110,000. Timmins is located in Northeastern Ontario, and is a fully accredited referral and teaching hospital and offers a full range of Medical, Surgical, Critical Care, Maternal/Child, Long Term Care, and Mental Health Services.
Details of Ophthalmology Locum work:
Ophthalmology locums provide service out of our newly built locum clinic. Ophthalmologists will also have onsite access to ophthalmic surgery OR, laser suite WITH Nd-YAG, Argon and diode capabilities as well as a minor procedure room to support a truly comprehensive ophthalmology practice.
Remuneration is as per HFO Guidelines for the Northern Specialist Locum Program.
Your traveling expenses of airfare and/or mileage, local car rental and accommodations will be covered.
Position Requirements
Candidates must:
- have Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Ophthalmology.
- be licensed to practice as an Ophthalmologists in the Province of Ontario.
- have Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage.
- have an independent practice license with the CPSO
- have an active OHIP billing number
- possess excellent clinical skills.
- have a commitment to patient safety and high standards of care.
** Approval based on successful credentialing for medical staff privileges.
