FULL-TIME EMERGENCY PHYSICIANS

BRACEBRIDGE, ONTARIO

South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge, Ontario requires Full-Time Emergency Physicians to staff our busy Emergency Department, which sees approximately 20,000 visits annually.  

South Muskoka Memorial Hospital is a 59-bed hospital serving 35,000 local residents and 75,000 seasonal residents. Our tourist population grows to a million in the summer when people take advantage of our lakes and rivers or visit the world-renowned Algonquin Provincial Park.

Description:

• Shift hours currently scheduled for 8-1400; 12-1800; 16-2200; 2200-0800
• A robust backup system (second-on-call) us in place

Requirements

• CPSO Licence
• CCFP, CCFP-EM, or FRCP
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, and ATLS are encouraged

Support

• New physician mentorship (may be eligible for provincially sponsored program)
• Robust backup system
• Five-bed Level 2 ICU - covered by Internists and Surgeons
• RT Support
• Local consults are provided by General Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Urology, GP Anaesthesia, GP OB and Palliative Care.
• Psychiatry support is available in the region, mainly from colleagues in Orillia
• Orthopedics support is available in Barrie, Orillia and Collingwood
• Pediatric support is available in Orillia
• Cardiology available in Barrie, including for STEMI transfers/PCI
• District Stroke Centre is in nearby Huntsville
• On-site laboratory services, X-Ray, CT, Ultrasound, ECHO, Mammography, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Therapy; Dialysis & Chemotherapy are on-site in Huntsville
• MRI available in Orillia

Remuneration:

• AFA (Alternate Funding Arrangement)
• Pay grid and more details available on request
