The new expanded hospital site opened in 2011 and has a modern feel. The facilities, including the emergency department, are continuously expanding and updating. As one of the top performing P4R Emergency Departments in Ontario we maintain high levels of patient and staff satisfaction.
Our well-funded allied health team is dedicated to enhancing ED physician efficiency. Physicians will benefit from regular investments in state-of-the-art equipment exclusively for the ED. Recent upgrades include advanced Mindray ultrasound machines, various video laryngoscopy options, disposable flexible nasopharyngoscopes, and a modern iCare tonometer.
The ED is supported by a robust Diagnostic Imaging Department, featuring ultrasound, CT, and MRI, as well as access to multiple local specialists, including Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedics, OB/Gyn, ENT, Ophthalmology, Urology, and Psychiatry. Our EMR system, Cerner/FirstNet, is seamlessly integrated with our tertiary care center at London Health Sciences Centre. Additionally, we regularly host trainees from the University of Western Ontario for those interested in teaching opportunities.
