Position Description:
The Department of Pediatrics, section of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, is seeking an Infection Prevention and Control focused Clinician Investigator at the clinical associate professor level or above (mid-career physician with a minimum 7 years' experience required) to join a section of eight colleagues. The position is currently supported as 1.0 FTE with 30-50% clinical activity, 20-30% infection control, 0-40% research and 0-20% education. The successful candidate will provide clinical expertise across the full spectrum of pediatric infectious diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Requirements for this position include minimum 7 years' experience in infection control either domestically or internationally, demonstrated leadership experience, minimum 7 years of research experience with demonstrated outputs including >40 publications. Minimum 7 years' experience in high-consequence infections, immunology, transplant infectious diseases, management of immunocompromised hosts is required. The section of Pediatric Infectious Diseases works closely with colleagues in the section of Pediatric Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplantation, Pediatric Immunology and Pediatric intensive Care. We are a regional hematopoietic stem cell transplant center. The Department of Pediatrics has over 400 clinical and academic faculty members who are part of the rapidly growing Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary.
