Position Summary / Description/Responsabilités
Southern Health-Santé Sud is currently seeking 2 Family Physicians (full-time equivalent to be determined) to provide services at the Centre de santé Notre Dame Health Centre and Clinique Notre Dame Clinic located in Notre Dame de Lourdes and other affiliate sites in St. Claude, Manitou, Somerset & Swan Lake.
The Family Physician would:
- Provide Primary Care to the target population
- Provide in patient acute health care including sharing Emergency department and on call duties collaboratively with a team of physicians
- Provide low acuity (off site) support as a collaborative interdisciplinary team for TCU patients in surrounding communities
- Provide LTC/PCH care and after hours PCH support as a collaborative interdisciplinary team for the PCHs within the area of responsibility (St. Claude, Notre Dame, Manitou)
- Support the CTU as a preceptor (as appropriate) for learners
The Family Physicians would be primarily based in Notre Dame. These positions are salaried and can be flexible to accommodate the candidates’ preference.
Many of the health services offered in the community of Notre Dame de Lourdes are available through the Centre Albert-Galliot and also features a new 10-bed acute care hospital with ER services, 60-bed personal care home and community health services including medical clinic, home care, public health and mental health. MB-Telehealth is also offered, providing teleconferencing for medical consults, meetings and education sessions.
Notre Dame de Lourdes is a charming bilingual community unlike any other in Manitoba and is situated in the scenic Pembina Hills approximately 130 km southwest of Winnipeg along highway 244.

Southern Health-Santé Sud est présentement à la recherche de deux Médecin de famille (temps plein or partielle) pour le Centre de santé Notre-Dame Health Centre situé à Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes. Le Médecin de famille participe au système de garde après les heures d’ouverture pour l’établissement et les communautés de Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, St-Claude, Manitou, Somerset et Swan Lake.
De nombreux services de santé sont offerts et accessibles au Centre Albert-Galliot ainsi qu’au Centre de santé Notre-Dame Health Centre. Ce dernier compte 10 lits – soins actifs avec un service d’urgence, un foyer de soins personnels de 60 lits et des services de santé communautaires, y compris la clinique médicale, les soins à domicile, la santé publique et la santé mentale. Le Centre de santé Notre-Dame Health Centre offre le service de Télésanté Manitoba permettant des téléconférences pour consultations médicales, réunions et séances de formation.

Qualifications / Qualités requises
- Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions
- Must be eligible for registration and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.
- Must be current in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) & Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required
- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
- Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums
- Good work and attendance record
