Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Medicine Physician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to patients of all ages, focusing on preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment of various health conditions. This role requires a commitment to patient-centered care and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care in a clinical setting, addressing acute and chronic health issues.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews and physical examinations.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Administer medications and manage pain management strategies as required.
- Provide pediatric care, ensuring appropriate treatment for younger patients.
- Engage in home care visits when necessary to support patients with mobility or transportation challenges.
- Utilize Epic or similar electronic health record systems for accurate documentation and data collection.
- Participate in research initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes and advancing medical knowledge.
- Educate patients and their families about health management, preventive measures, and lifestyle modifications.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Family Medicine or eligibility for board certification.
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of employment.
- Strong skills in patient care, acute care management, and medication administration.
- Experience in pediatrics is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Epic, is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of family medicine.
Certificates, licenses, memberships, and courses
- College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP)
- Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
- Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II)
