The community of Broadview, located in Southeast Saskatchewan, is seeking a team orientated and professional family physician to join their primary health care team. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team providing primary health care services to the community of Broadview and surrounding area and will work collaboratively with other medical professionals to support the acute care and emergency services in the area.This practice offers a full range of services, which would include admitting privileges and access to the area's primary health care resources such as home care, mental health and addictions, chronic disease management, public health, etc. Acute care referral services are available in the city of Regina which is approximately 90 minutes away.The SHA is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the educational needs of medical students, residents, nursing staff and allied health professionals. The successful candidate will be encouraged to become involved in the academic efforts in the Department of Family Medicine in our area.This position will remain open until filled and may be filled prior to the posted closing date.

The Rural Physician Incentive Program (RPIP) which provides up to $200,000 over five years to family physicians practicing, or returning to practice, in rural and remote communities in Saskatchewan

The SMA Retention Fund, which provides financial reward to physicians who practice in the province for extended periods ranging from $7,000 - $14,000 per year for fulltime work.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess a strong team approach and work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a focus on patient and family centrerd care.In addition, the candidate must also meet the below requirements:

Certified or eligible to be certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)

Regular or Provisional License with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) (or eligible to be licensed)

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Recommended - Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Valid driver's license

Successful SHA credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and criminal record check with vulnerable sector

Current Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage

Legal entitlement to work in Canada

Call Schedule:

24 hour on call emergency coverage is required for the emergency room, hospital in-patients, home care and long term care residents as well as critical lab values. At present, the on call responsibilities are shared equitably amongst physicians in the community.
