Job Description
The Zone Clinical Department Section Chief (ZCDSC) Family Medicine, Hospitalist, Psychiatry is a Medical Leadership role governed by the Medical Staff Rules and is responsible for overseeing clinical operations involving members of their Zone Clinical Department Section and reports to the Zone Clinical Department Head. |
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Provide enhanced coordination of care for the psychiatric patients who have acute medical needs.
Oversee the medical patient needs on the 32-bed unit as well as 4 beds within the ED at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital.
Liaison with Unit 5N and providing leadership support to the ZCDH Family Medicine with family medicine psychiatry patients on the Unit.
Meet with your Clinical Department Head (ZCDH) regularly.
Collaborate with the members of the Department of Psychiatry when deemed appropriate.
Establish and maintain effective communication with members of The Section’s Medical Staff, other members of Medical Staff, Facility and Clinical Department leaders, AHS Operational leaders, and others as appropriate.
Lead and facilitate a model of open communication between physicians and the healthcare team, ensuring there is a shared inter-professional responsibility.
Collaborate with physician groups to work through issues and challenges and make recommendations for improvements to quality processes.
Represent the facility positively to external stakeholders.
Promoting and representing the activities of the Zone Clinical Department Section.
