We are seeking Family Physicians to join our collegial primary care community in the beautiful town of Cobourg. These FHO opportunities include several positions attached to the Northumberland Family Health Team (NFHT), a well-established non-profit organization providing comprehensive, team-based care to more than 26,000 patients. Our interprofessional team—family physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, dietitians, occupational and physical therapists, pharmacists, and more—works collaboratively to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. With several upcoming retirements, physicians have the rare opportunity to assume well-managed, long-standing practices.

Physicians may choose clinic-only work or combine it with hospital services at Northumberland Hills Hospital, which offers a wide range of acute, post-acute, outpatient, and diagnostic services. These include emergency and ICU care, medical/surgical services, obstetrics, palliative care, rehabilitation, mental health care, chemotherapy, dialysis, and extensive ambulatory clinics. Advanced diagnostics—including MRI, CT, and mammography—are also available onsite, supported through strong regional partnerships.

Cobourg, located on the shores of Lake Ontario just one hour east of Toronto, is a vibrant, historic community known for its stunning waterfront, sandy beach, marina, and beautifully preserved downtown. Safe, friendly, and rich in amenities, it offers an exceptional quality of life with excellent schools, modern recreation facilities, diverse dining, festivals, and quick access to Highway 401 and VIA Rail.
