The successful candidate(s) will join our team to provide comprehensive anesthesiology services to the patients of southwest Saskatchewan at Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital. The scope of practice includes inpatient and outpatient care, emergency consults and specialist on-call coverage. We provide full obstetrical services, as well as general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics and ophthalmology. Elective OR runs from 0745 to 1600 hours. Call is 1:4.

Qualifications:

The successful candidates should be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS), Certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada with recognised FPA training. Family doctors with experience and certified of added competency will also be considered for this position at this site.

Preference will be given to University of Saskatchewan graduates and individuals with strong ties to Saskatchewan. This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family-centered care. In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.

The “Wigmore Hospital” is a brand-new state of the art facility with 72 inpatient beds including an intensive care unit. We provide full obstetrical services, as well as general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics and ophthalmology. Other specialty services available include pediatrics, internal medicine, pathology, radiology (diagnostic imaging, ultrasound, CT, MRI). There is opportunity for participation in teaching through the University of Saskatchewan, College of Medicine programs.
