Health Sciences North (HSN) is inviting applications for a full-time Plastic Surgeon to join our collegial and
expanding team of five Plastic Surgeons serving Northeastern Ontario.
Plastic Surgery at Health Sciences North
Health Sciences North (HSN) is the largest hospital in Northern Ontario and the tertiary care referral centre for
more than 600,000 residents across a vast geographic region. Our Division of Plastic Surgery is an integral
part of HSN’s Surgical Program, working in close collaboration with over 75 surgeons across multiple
specialties.
Plastic surgeons at HSN provide a full spectrum of care, including reconstructive, hand, craniofacial, trauma,
and cancer-related procedures, supported by a strong multidisciplinary network of anesthesiologists,
intensivists, perioperative nurses, and allied health professionals. Surgeons also benefit from the hospital’s
comprehensive cancer program, which supports complex oncologic reconstructions for breast, head & neck,
and skin cancers.
Program Highlights:
- 17 fully equipped operating rooms with state-of-the-art technology
- 16,000+ operative procedures annually across a wide range of subspecialties
- Comprehensive perioperative services, including a Level III Intensive Care Unit and dedicated surgical inpatient/outpatient units
- Regional cancer centre with integrated multidisciplinary teams supporting advanced oncologic reconstructions
- Trauma centre designation, offering exposure to complex trauma and microsurgery cases
- Academic affiliation with NOSM University, with opportunities for clinical teaching, mentorship, and collaborative research through the Health Sciences North Research Institute (HSNRI)
Requirements:
- Specialty certification in Plastic Surgery and eligibility for licensure with the CPSO.
- Maintain a faculty appointment with NOSM-University and contribute to the academic mandate of the Service of Plastic Surgery
