Job Description
Health Sciences North/Horizon Santé-Nord (HSN) is recruiting health care professionals who have a
keen interest in affecting change within its dynamic health care system. As the tertiary care
referral centre for the entire Northeastern Ontario region, HSN serves a catchment population of
over 600,000 residents.
The Department of Pediatrics is seeking Royal College certified Pediatricians with a general practice
focus to join the team at the Northeastern Ontario Health Centre for Kids (NEO Kids).
NEO Kids is the hub for specialized children's care in Northeastern Ontario, offering over 20
outpatient clinics and services, supported by a multidisciplinary team. The NEO Kids Foundation,
launched in 2015, funds children’s services, equipment, and research at HSN.
The department currently has 8 pediatricians involved in regional programs such as diabetes, cystic
fibrosis, autism, oncology, and more. HSN also provides a Pediatric Ambulatory Care Unit, Complex
Care Kids of Ontario clinic, ADHD clinic, and a 12-bed general pediatric unit. It manages a 10 bed
level 2C neonatal unit for newborns and serves as a consulting center for Sudbury and Manitoulin.
