Health Sciences North/Horizon Santé-Nord (HSN) is recruiting health care professionals who have a keen interest in affecting change within its dynamic health care system. As the tertiary care referral centre for the entire Northeastern Ontario region, HSN serves a catchment population of over 600,000 residents.

The Department of Medicine is recruiting General Internal Medicine Specialists to expand their team and support its academic mission with NOSM University. Members of the team function as fee-for-service consultants with compensation directly from OHIP billings. The available practice opportunity is a share in Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU) weeks, a share in inpatient general internal medicine consult service weeks, and the expectation of setting up a private office. Locum opportunities are also available.

Candidates must be eligible for licensure in Ontario and have obtained or be eligible to obtain speciality qualifications from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Academic, restricted, and/or international applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

All physicians are expected to seek academic appointment at NOSM University (NOSM U), and become involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. Research opportunities are also available with HSN’s affiliated research institute, HSNRI.
